Dr. Satya Mallick

Chief Executive Officer

In 2017, IBM Watson’s blog named Dr. Mallick as one of the top 30 AI influencers to follow on Twitter. His work has been featured in publications like the BBC, Time, Huffington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Oprah Magazine, TechCrunch and TheRegister.co.uk.

Dr. Mallick received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego in 2006. Immediately after his graduation, he co-founded Sight Commerce Inc., a Computer Vision company that creates vision and learning solutions for the beauty and fashion industry. Their virtual makeover product has been used by over 100M people across the world. Dr. Mallick also serves as the CEO of OpenCV.org.

Dr. Sunita Nayak

Co-Founder & Senior AI Scientist

An expert researcher in Computer Vision and AI, Dr. Sunita Nayak received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of South Florida. Dr. Nayak pioneered the development of automated systems for the Deaf community, helping them sign and communicate with others by translating American Sign Language to English text.

She has published multiple research papers in top scientific conferences including IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, and high-impact scientific journals such as IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence.

Dr. Matt Flagg

Vice President, Research

Dr. Matt Flagg earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2010 from the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech, specializing in computer vision, graphics and human-computer interaction. Matt’s current research interests include the first markerless motion capture system for professional soccer, the best 3D face scanner for the iPhone, and identity document authentication.

Prior to consulting, he co-founded a gesture recognition company named PlayMotion that deployed hundreds of projector-camera systems in hospitals, museums and family entertainment centers including three divisions of Disney parks. He also contributed to the development of the technology that won a technical Oscar at Industrial Light & Magic. Outside of work, Matt is an avid kayaker and runner.

Pranav Mishra

Vice President, Technology

Prior to joining Big Vision, Pranav was a Co-Founder at Lensbricks. Lensbricks built several technologies that helped identify key moments in a video. Pranav’s team developed a camera called Kiba which could find joyful moments in any camera recording.

Pranav has been a researcher at Nokia Research and MIT Media Labs in the past. At Nokia Research, he won several awards for being the top innovator in Asia. Pranav has earned 15 granted US Patents in the field of Computer Vision. He completed his graduation from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay in Signal Processing and Communications.

Vikas Gupta

Vikas is an AI & Computer Vision researcher with a Masters degree from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore with active interest in doing research in Machine Perception, Scene Understanding, Deep Learning and Robotics.

With over a decade of rich experience as a Professor, AI Engineer and Data Scientist, Vikas has worked on various projects with reputed organizations such as Samsung and Snapdeal.

Ankit has earned his Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He loves to engineer products with deep and differentiated technology. He is an expert in Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Deep Learning.

Prior to Big Vision, Ankit co-founded iLenze, a Computer Vision startup that built scalable visual search engines powering some of the largest e-commerce brands in the world.
